Introducing the uBuddy Program!

Codegarden 2024 is bringing back the uBuddy program - we'd love you to be part of it!
We’re on the lookout for a group of friendly and experienced individuals to lend a helping hand to this year’s first-timers at Codegarden.
By becoming a uBuddy, you’ll have the opportunity to share your wealth of knowledge and expertise to make sure our newcomers have the best experience possible.
We are looking for you if:
  • You’re attending Codegarden 2024 in person
  • You have been to at least one in-person Codegarden event before
  • You are a sociable individual who is eager to share their best tips and tricks with our Codegarden first-timers.

To become a uBuddy, all you need to do is sign up for our uBuddy Program Kickoff on Wednesday morning from 10.30-11.15, taking place in The Theatre at DOK5000.

During the kickoff, you’ll be matched with one or more first-timers, and together, you’ll work out how best to support each other throughout the event.

This could mean meeting up each morning for a quick coffee, or it could mean connecting multiple times a day - it’s up to you to figure out what works best for you both.

Some examples of how you could help a first-timer include:

  • Introducing them to the friendly Umbraco community
  • Making them acquaint of the venue and the surroundings
  • Helping them find the facilities at the venue
  • Showing them how to use the Umbraco Events app
  • Making sure they survive the social activities…
  • and more!

Are you attending Codegarden for the first time or feeling a bit apprehensive about navigating the sessions and social events solo? Fear not! The uBuddy program is here to lend a helping hand.

By signing up for a uBuddy, you'll be paired with a knowledgeable Umbraco enthusiast who can answer your questions, provide guidance throughout the conference, and even introduce you to new friends along the way. Your uBuddy will be there to offer support, share insights, and help you make the most of your Codegarden experience.

If you’re coming to Codegarden this year and it’s your first time, why not meet some of your fellow first timers beforehand by joining our Umbraco Discord Server! Once you join, you will see a prompt to follow the #codegarden-conference channel. Here you will be greeted by the Umbraco DevRel Team and your fellow Codegarden attendees. We will share some great tips for attending Codegarden, you can ask any questions you might have about the event, you can get to know folk and maybe even find a travel buddy. Then just think, in a few weeks time you’ll get to meet these people in person!
